Wishes Often Lack Joy

IX OF BIRDS (9 of Cups)
BEAUTY

9Birds_Beauty

This little Finch has everything he’s ever wanted but he’s feeling no joy, no happiness about his success. He should be singing but he has a feeling of something missing.

Beauty surrounds herself with simple pleasures and tells the Finch to focus on what he has and enjoy what he has.

Ooops, I think I heard a little peep from him. He realizes that obtaining stuff does not bring joy, it’s comes from something else.

Like hearing the wrens singing in the garden to greet the new day.

I have dreams of living a more “Zen” lifestyle – simple without so much stuff. But right now, there is some stuff I really like. And some stuff I like to collect. 😀 I know the joy it brings is fleeting though!

Hey man, you can’t fool me, I know you’re hankering over a set of 36 Faber-Castell Albrecht Durer watercolour pencils. But they have to be in the tin, right? Yeah, I get you.

Then I’m pretty sure the black/green Pilot Cavalier fountain pen drew your eye one day and you can’t get it out of your mind. What are you up to Bev? About $150 plus tax?

I’m with you: “some stuff” is very beguiling.

You don’t collect card decks do you? Who would spend oodles of money buying card decks? You could be buying 250 pairs of shoes or 80 pairs of underwear or go to restaurants and eat eggs and bacon and burgers that are 4 portions in one burger every week, and go to bars and spend $10 on one drink, let alone the 7 you bought that one Friday….

But those card decks are a waste of money.
