Analogy Shmalogy

Daily Draw May 14th, 2012

This is not the greatest day in my life so I have hauled out Louise Hay’s book You Can Heal Your Life and I am trying to think a different way.

Parachute 4
2002, by Rex Ray
Oil, Acrylic, and Mixed Media on Linen, 60 x 48 feet

Wow, that’s a whopper of a painting. You can see the linen texture through the paint. The parachutes can go up and down, they look somewhat reflective. Just don’t land in that tree fella.

It makes me think of grabbing the ripcord of mental safety, reaching for the better thought, floating past anxiety and guilt and sorrow to land safely on the sweet-textured linen hills of life. The parachute is never in a hurry, it merely grabs the present current and drifts to its destination, confident in a good landing.

Yes, it’s analogy day here on Photon Stimulus.

Hang in there. I intended to remind you of a “think positive” kind of song–but they’re all so damn sappy–so I’ll spare you–and now I have little orphan Annie’s “the Sun Will Come Up Tomorrow” on a loop in my brain– whoops!

😉 seriously, hope things get better soon.

Thanks D. Oh no, the song meme…!!

Hey Boz Scaggs does a lovely rendition of the old Hoagy Carmichael / Johnny Mercer tune “Skylark”–you could try that. Bet your bottom dollar it would dispel Annie.
